Dr. Schatz completed his Medical School, Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Virginia. During his training, he received the Higgins Award for most outstanding senior resident and has co-authored multiple publications and poster presentations at national meetings. Dr. Schatz is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and board certified in Nuclear Cardiology (stress tests) as well as Echocardiography. As an invasive cardiologist, Dr. Schatz performs procedures such as transesophageal echocardiograms and diagnostic catheterizations. He is an expert in the field of heart disease as it relates to high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes with a focus in preventive cardiology and pericarditis. Dr. Schatz provides care for a variety of diseases, including heart attacks, congestive heart failure, and heart valve diseases. He is excited to provide guideline directed patient care and to help his patients with personalized care strategies.
